25 percent of mobile communication subscribers use non-traditional communication services: Nokia
Azerbaijan, Baku, June 29 / Trend , G.Valiyev/
The trend of mobile communication development will move in the direction of non-voice services in future, Head of the Marketing Department of the Southern CIS countries' Nokia Corp office in Kazakhstan Ruslan Beisov said.
Beisov said at present about 25 percent of the Azerbaijani mobile communication subscribers are interested in using non-traditional services, such as the Internet, data, video, email, etc. But the full use of these services is impossible without 3G technology.
"At present roughly 20 percent of Nokia phones support this communication standard on the Azerbaijani market. I think that emergence of the 3G technology in Azerbaijan would be logical, as the market has been developed enough," Beisov told Trend in Baku on June 29.
Beisov noted that currently the mobile communication market in Azerbaijan is one of the fastest growing ones in the former Soviet Union, and, despite the fact that the level of cellular communications emergence in Azerbaijan reached 90 percent, the market will continue to develop.
