Azerbaijan, Baku, Aug.11 / Trend G.Valiyev /

The Baku Production Association of Telephone Communication (BPATC) plans to complete electronization of the Baku telephone lines by the end of the first quarter of 2010, Deputy Director of the BPATC, Khankishi Kishiyev told Trend .

At present the BPATC holds work on systematic and consistent substitution of the analog Automatic Telephone Systems (ATS) to digital and the level of digitalization through the BPATC network reaches 86 percent. Active modernization of the network covers 100 percent digitalization of the telephones in Baku.

The BPATC is reconstructing ATS with an index of 470, 471, 472, 474, 475, 476 and 423. The BPATC planned to reconstruct the ATSs on the basis of NGN (Next Generation Network) technology. Future plans include the introduction of NGN in the PBX 438, 439, 493, 494, 495, 498, Kishiyev added.

The Baku telephone network has come close to full implementation of the NGN concept, where all types of networks are unified and managed by one control device. At present, ATS constructed on the basis of the NGN holds 50 percent share in the urban network is, Kishiyev said.

NGN is a network with switching packet, which enables better use of existing communication channels. Flexible switching and a unified technology enable data transmission on the same hardware to provide a wide range of services and add new ones, as they are developed. This enables to offer the consumers IP telephony, broadband Internet and IP-TV, along with traditional services.
