The Governmental Agency for Radio Frequencies will participate in the third conference of digital broadcasting Dream-on-Demand due in Tallinn, Estonia, from Aug. 23 through 31, senior engineer of the organization Ilham Efendiyev told Trend .
The conference will be organized by the National Broadcasting Corporation of Estonia Levira.
Azerbaijan joins the forum to analyze the Estonian experience in applying digital television. So, reverse counting of time for passage Estonia to the digital TV has been applied since July 1.
After a year, on July 1, 2010 all the analogue TVs transmitters must be turned off. So, Estonia will be the first country among the new EU members applying general transition to the digital airing.
The work to apply digital TV in the territory of capital in Azerbaijan in MPEG-4 format is to end by September. "At present the installation of equipment has finished and testing is to launch shortly," Efendiyev said. In difference to MPEG-2, MPEG-4 envisages broadcasting not four, but nine programs through one channel.
