The project envisages the operation of the GRID segment for processing the flow of information to be received from CERN after the launch of the Large Hadron Collider.

The data processing will involve computers installed in 140 institutes in 33 countries. The entire system will operate in real time regime as a single supercomputer. For this purpose, specialized computing centers have been established all over the world that will address concrete tasks, and send the results to the head center of CERN.

According Abdinov, the launching of the collider was postponed to November. Currently, the computer center of the Institute has completed the installation of computers that will be involved in the network of GRID. CERN has provided more than 300 computers to the Institute of Physics.

In nearest future, the center will be connected to the optic line with a capacity of 20 Mbps. The work on the creation of the necessary software concludes. The Institute will also have to pass the procedures for registration and obtaining a license.
