Microsoft promises Kyrgyzstan special software

Microsoft Corporation promised to provide Kyrgyzstan with special software allowing usage of the state (Kyrgyz) language, "24.kg" reported.

The agreement was reached at the meeting of the Kyrgyz Premier, Igor Chudinov with Linda Zecher, a Corporate Vice President of the Public Sector and Timothy Cannon Director of Business Strategy at the Microsoft Corporation in New York on September 22, 2009.

The Kyrgyz Republic will have an opportunity to support Kyrgyz alphabet and the state language like the other 150 languages of the world as a part of the innovative administration program (Microsoft ®).

"Microsoft is ready to give its services free of charge, for use at the official internet portal of the Kyrgyz government and other state administration bodies in order to simplify and promote localization of the products," the White House said.

The Prime Minister showed interest in computer or cyber safety improvement. Chudinov pointed that Kyrgyzstan is especially interested in programs for prevention and investigation of crimes against children, committed with the usage of information technologies.
