The 3G network of Azerbaijani mobile operator Azerfon has been deployed in seven Azerbaijani regions outside Baku, Sumgayit and the Absheron Peninsula, Corporate Communications Manager Elshad Farzaliyev told Trend .
He said today the 3G network has been deployed in Ganja, Shirvan, Nakhichivan, Mingachevir, Sheki, Tovuz and Shamkir. The company's further plans include expanding the network throughout the republic. The number of Azerfon-Vodafone subscribers exceeds 5,000.
The speed of data transfer using the 3G network reached 3.5 Mbps, which provides for operative loading multimedia content, high-speed Internet access, e-mail and possibility file sharing applications. 3G network subscribers by means of mobile phones which support this standard can receive and transmit large amounts of data and video.
