Bakcell, via its CSR program Bakcell Stars, recently launched a SMS-campaign for its customers to contribute 1 AZN or 450 contours to Save the Children by replying to the 1155 sms short code. Following the television campaign, Bakcell Stars is proud to announce that our subscribers have already donated AZN 35,000 which will be fully spent on a Save the Children education project for Azerbaijani children.
Save the Children's Tolerance Education Program is one of Save the Children's most successful programs, implemented with the Ministry of Education since 2005. It focuses on tolerance, cooperation, compassion and healthy lifestyles. The program equips children with critical skills that help them to grow up as responsible members of society. Save the Children is the world's leading independent organization working to defend the rights and improve lives of children and has been working in Azerbaijan since 1993.
Bakcell has financially supported Save the Children's education project for nearly one year by engaging professional actors and teachers to use drama and interactive teaching methodologies to improve quality education in five Azerbaijani schools. As a culmination of these efforts, nearly 150 children performed their 'Bird Stories' scenes at a large event in the Azerbaijan State Philharmonic Hall in Baku last week.
Bakcell Stars believes that education programs make a real difference in children's lives and the contribution from our subscribers will help to largely expand the program to more schools throughout Azerbaijan. Bakcell Stars will continue to financially support Save the Children and is thankful to our subscribers who support the children's program. The Bakcell subscriber donation of AZN 35,000 will allow Save the Children to educate an additional 350 children in the next school year and any extra funds will give even more children more chances in life.
Bakcell Stars will also continue the television and sms campaign this coming weekend and will inform its subscribers of how their donations will be used in the next school year.
