The Aztelekom PU of the Azerbaijani Communications and IT Ministry works to eliminate accidents in a disaster zone caused by increased water levels in the Kur River, Aztelekom Spokesman Vidadi Ismayilov said today.

Ismayilov said the PU's specialist team takes preventive measures in places where it is possible.

"Problems caused by the natural disaster have been addressed only partially, since access to the network infrastructure in some areas is still impossible because of the high water level. Today, the company considers several alternatives for solving the problem. The PU also works to assess damage caused by the natural disaster to the company's telecommunications," Ismayilov said.

About 15 kilometers of main fiber-optic lines in Shirvan have been flooded. However, despite this, breaks in connection have not been observed.

The company has engaged three teams in resolving problems in the disaster zone. The same problem was observed in the Sabirabad region and nearby settlements.

The disasters have not affected the CDMA base wireless station.
