The Azerbaijani Communications and IT Ministry's Teleradio Production Unit will expand the Idman-Azerbaijan television channel's coverage by late 2010, Teleradio PU Technical Director Mikhail Abbasov told Trend today.
According to Abbasov, today the channel's coverage only reaches 70 percent of the country. However, the figure will hit 90 percent by late 2010.
The Teleradio PU has also optimized broadcasting for AzTV and the Public Television Channel, whose coverage reaches 99.9 percent of Azerbaijan.
The broadcasting quality among private and regional television channels has also been improved. The Teleradio PU's specialists are now working to expand regional television channels in Sheki, Zagatala and Ganja.
The Elektronika and Kvant-Air companies are providing equipment to expand broadcast coverage, such as analog devices and digital-ready equipment, which allows a smooth transition to digital broadcasting.
