Autodesk, a world leading 2D and 3D engineering, design and entertainment software developer, is launching a partner network in Azerbaijan, Autodesk regional director for Central Asia and Caucasus Rustam Ibrahimov said in an interview with the Azerbaijani magazine Infocity.

The California, U.S.-based company has operated a distribution and authorized partnership network in the CIS for seven years and launched sales of its products in Azerbaijan in July.

Ibrahimov said that the company actively supports a variety of startups, new directions in software development and monitors and recruits young and promising developers. Although Autodesk focused on such specialists in the CIS, Ibrahimov however sees great potential in the region thanks to a strong school of programmers.

"We are closely monitoring plugin developers for our products. One of which is placed in Azerbaijan. We always try to help them," he said.

As to the localization of Autodesk products, it is necessary to define terminology, he said.

"The location means the refinement of products under the standards of the country, but not the translation of the interface. Our partners will explore this question. If the standards adopted in Azerbaijan and Russia are very different, we will consider the question of localization," Ibrahimov said.

As for translating Autodesk's interface into the Azerbaijani language, Ibrahimov said that it is easy to do and this is not a key issue considered by the company.
