Turkmenistan approves Regulations on licensing activities in communication sphere

Turkmenistan approved the Regulations on the licensing activities in the communication sphere. The corresponding document was signed by the President Gurbanguly Berdimuhammadov.

Turkmenistan approved the Regulations on the licensing activities in the communication sphere. The corresponding document was signed by the President Gurbanguly Berdimuhammadov.

The Regulations was adopted according with Turkmenistan's law "On licensing of certain types of activities" to implement the decree dated Febr. 27, 2009 "On organization of licensing in Turkmenistan."

By another decree of the President Turkmenistan's Communications Ministry will conclude a contract with the British company "Sony Professional Solutions Europe" to purchase mobile television station.

Sphere of communications and telecommunications is one of the most promising and dynamic sectors of Turkmenistan's economy. The Ministry of Communications has established partner relations with companies such as Sony, JVC, Siemens-Nokia, Shell & Wilcox, Tandberg, Rhode & Schwarz, NEC, "Eurasia Trans Limited, the Russian Prima Telecom and others.

"We create all conditions to make available the Internet and modern communication technologies to every citizen of Turkmenistan, and we attach great importance to the intensive development of telecommunications," Berdimuhamedov said in his address to participants of the recent international exhibition "Turkmentel - 2010" held in Ashgabat.
