Nokia representative office in Azerbaijan to start operation in late October

Nokia completes works on opening a representative office in Azerbaijan, Mobitel (Nokia official distributor in Azerbaijan) told Trend.
According to report, a place where the representative office will be located has been already allocated and legal and technical issues are being addressed. Preparations for opening of the office will be completed by late October.
The company said that opening of an office testifies about strengthening of Nokia's position and the long-term development plans and promotion of products and solutions on the Azerbaijani market.
The company intends to become closer to its partners by opening the office. It will also respond to changing consumer preferences.
As said earlier Trend director of marketing for Nokia in the South Ruslan Beisov CIS, Azerbaijan is the second important country for Nokia company in the region of Central Asia and Caucasus, where the mobile phone market is growing steadily, Nokia company marketing director in the CIS southern countries Ruslan Beisov told Trend.
According to the Azerbaijani Communications and Information Technologies Ministry's official data, the subscriber base of GSM-operators in the six months increased by 742,880 subscribers and amounted to 8.5 million subscribers. The penetration rate of mobile communication in Azerbaijan reached 94 percent.
One of the important projects implemented by the company for Azerbaijani consumers is to develop a fully functional navigation map for Azerbaijan. Today navigation map of Azerbaijan has been developed by fragments. It shows only the main trunk roads and towns.
Beisov said that Nokia will officially launch the navigation map for Kazakhstan in the third quarter. According to the plans, the company will deal with the implementation of the navigation map for Azerbaijan.
