The Azerbaijani Azercell Telecom mobile operator will launch a 3G network for commercial operation in early 2011, President Ali Agan said today.
During his visit to the BakuTel-2010, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev praised 3G technology and noted the importance of Azercell deploying a 3G network, Agan said.
The company has completed technical preparations to introduce 3G networks for commercial operation. They will be available after a license is issued by the Communications and IT Ministry.
Regarding roaming services, Agan said the company, like Azerbaijan's other mobile operators, is planning in the near future to provide more affordable prices.
