Azerbaijan claims to be the leading country in the region to exchange Internet traffic between Europe and Asia in 2011, Technical Director of Delta Telecom Rahid Alekperli said.
He said that specific work was determined to increase the quality of telecommunication infrastructure and implement targeted projects in this area in 2011.
"The tariff policy pursued on the Azerbaijani internet market until the first half of 2010 has reached its peak, " he said.
Today, the producers face with serious problems by delivering new technologies and solutions to the market.
It is typical not only for the world market, but also for Azerbaijani one.
Our goal is to bring the Internet to the end user, " he said.
Today Delta Telecom deployed a network of wireless WiMAX. There are other projects. They aim to provide high-speed Internet in Baku and the Absheron Peninsula, and throughout the republic. The company develops the technology of satellite communications now. They will be involved and allow the company to reach an even greater number of Internet users in Azerbaijan.
