Azerbaijani postal operator Azerpoct LLC has introduced mail tracking system throughout Azerbaijan, Shamsaddin Gadirov, head of Public Relations Department of Azerexpresspost Communications Company said.
According to him, the system will be integrated into the official website of the postal communication operator Azerpoct.
"New system of postal mail tracking envisages the assignment of a unique email ID by postal mail, which will be issued to the sender at the post offices. This will allow at every stage of sending, to put down information of the mail ID in one database, thanks to which it will be possible in real time to track the passage of postal items through Internet to the final destination," Gadirov said.
According to him, today the system is in test mode and will be introduced during this year. The system of mail tracking will also be used in the EMS (Express Mail Service) service and other types of postal services.
