Turkmenistan, Ashgabat, March 18 / Trend H.Hasanov /

The Turkmen government and U.N. are discussing a cooperation project to reform government mechanisms on macroeconomic management and e-government, the Altin Asir television channel reported.

The issue was addressed today at a meeting between President Gurbangulu Berdimuhammedov and U.N. Secretariat Economic and Social Affairs Department Adviser Alexei Tikhomirov.

Turkmenistan intends to introduce an e-workflow and the e-government e-document handling system.

The new reforms will be organized in the energy, chemical and processing, construction, transport, telecommunications, medicine, textiles and agricultural industries.

Berdimuhammedov has set tasks to implement e-document management in the regions. All these steps should facilitate the prompt resolution of management and economic management issues, better control over enterprise logistics and higher standards for public services.

Local economists believe the e-government will contribute to improving enterprise management efficiency, provide an opportunity for operational control at all stages of business management, and reduce the time needed to make management decisions.
