Minsk hosted the 25th meeting of the Regional Commonwealth of Communications' (RCC) Informatization Commission on April 28, the RCC reported.
Azerbaijani Communications and IT Ministry's Information Society Department head Isbyandiyar Aliyev represented the country at the meeting.
During the meeting, the Commission had before it the actual directions of cooperation between the countries of the RCC, which are reflected in the draft Strategy for Cooperation of CIS member-states in building and development of Information Society and Action Plan for its implementation until 2015. These documents were sent to the CIS Executive Committee for approval in the prescribed manner by the Council of CIS Heads of Government.
During the meeting, members reported on the use of e-government technology for development and modernization of their economies. Also at the meeting there was a model project on construction and operation of cross-border confidence-space of the CIS. In this area of cooperation it is assumed that the RCC Informatization Commission will ensure coordination of the RCC participants' countries on standardization in information technology and the formation of cross-border space of trust with the Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) and the Centre for Trade Facilitation and Electronic Business (UN/CEFACT).
