Azerbaijan, Baku, June 20 / Trend H.Veliyev /

The Azerbaijani National Academy of Sciences' (ANAS) Institute of Physics has started to prepare a platform to deploy a Grid-segment in the country's educational institutions, Senior Fellow of the Institute of Physics Farhad Khalilzade told Trend.

He said the work is carried under the EduGrid project. The activities will allow each participant to acquire the skills necessary to rapidly create Grid-applications, as well as to gain experience in using the Grid-environment to manage distributed data.

The main aspect of the project is obtaining English language proficiency by students, as they will have access to foreign content. Unfortunately, the English language at a high level still remains an insurmountable barrier in the country's most secondary educational institutions, which, in effect, obstacles the speedy deployment of the Grid-segment.

Schools with access to a segment of Grid via the Institute will be able to communicate in the online mode with all teachers in the world to organize live lectures, video conferences, etc..

First, the Institute will apply the Grid-segment at the Z. Aliyeva School.
