Azerbaijan, Baku, June 21 / Trend, H. Valiyev /

The Baku Telephone Communications Production Unit is expanding the wireless CDMA standard service coverage zone, PU CDMA Services Department head Murad Jabrayilov told Trend.

Jabrayilov said, by late this year, the operator plans to install an additional four new base stations, which will increase the operator's number capacity up to 20,000 units from the current 13,000 units.

The operator's CDMA- network mounting capacity is 50,000 numbers, which, according to Jabrayilov, will increase depending on growing demand.

Today, the Baku Telephone Network CDMA network covers the territory of Baku and Absheron Peninsula.

CDMA networks are an alternative to broadband DSL, and allow easier access to information in remote regions, where the material costs for cable is unreasonably high.
