The Azerbaijani Communications and IT Ministry intends to increase the country's export potential in the ICT sphere under long-term plans for 2011, Minister Ali Abbasov said on Saturday.
He said a special document was developed to create an acceptable export regime and it will soon be presented to the relevant structures.
The document is aimed to stimulate in Azerbaijan production of export-directed products and services in ICT.
This document includes items such as the simplification of taxation, reduction of customs duties, and exemption from payment of duties in many cases. It is also stipulates the simplification of the process of issuing loans.
"We believe the use of such a regime will allow to attract foreign investment and multinational companies in the ICT sector of Azerbaijan. This will lead to participation of international multinational companies in joint projects, as well as strengthening of local companies in foreign markets," he added.
