The presence of favorable conditions and minimization of the rates for transportation services will play a positive role in supplying Azerbaijani IT products to the market of Cuba, the head of department for international relations and work with non-governmental institutions of the Azerbaijani Communications Ministry Ayaz Bayramov told reporters.
Bayramov said a special agency in Cuba deals with importing equipment to the country. The representatives of Cuba got familiarized with the Azerbaijani IT-products during BakuTel-2010 exhibition. A test batch of computers was also delivered to this country last year.
The price factor plays a key role in supplying equipment to Cuba. The Cuban market is closed in certain sense and public policy is aimed at protecting the domestic market and the interests of national producers.
"The negotiations are continuing in this regard and if favorable conditions are adopted and the fares for transport services are minimized, the Azerbaijani companies will be able to supply computers and software to Cuba. The establishment of joint ventures to organize production line in this country is also discussed," said Bayramov .
The opportunities for cooperation with Cuba in the field of ICT have been negotiated in an agreement signed by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Informatics and Communications of Cuba in October 2010.
