Turkmentelecom studies projects to introduce high-quality TV

Turkmentelecom state telecommunications company considers proposals of Cisco, Alcatel, Juniper and other companies to introduce high-quality TV and broadband Internet access, Turkmen media outlets reported on Wednesday.

According to the "Neutral Turkmenistan" newspaper, the country will greatly increase the number of subscribers using broadband access. This technology will provide a continuous connection to the World Wide Web and the so-called "two-way" communication, that is, the ability to both accept and transmit information at high speed.

"The development of the Internet will provide subscribers of the state-owned telecommunications company "Turkmentelecom" with not only access services, but also television programs of high quality. Modern equipment is needed in this regard, and "Turkmentelecom" specialists are studying offers the world-famous manufacturers, such as Cisco, Alcatel, Juniper and others," the newspaper reported.

Access to the "Turkmenistan Online" network is provided at the Turkmen hotels, primarily in the "Avaza" national tourist zone since 2010.

The newspaper stresses that the operators of "Altyn Asyr" mobile communication company provide the people, institutions and organizations of all types of property with mobile means and services. Subscribers of the national mobile communication network also have the opportunity to use other additional services, namely the receipt and transmission of SMS, voice mail, call waiting, as well as conference call.
