Work is on schedule to launch Azerbaijan's first telecommunication satellite Azerspace. It will be launched in late 2012, Deputy Communication and IT Minister Elmir Velizade told media today.
He said that the work is being carried out using partners, Orbital and Arianspace.
The French Arianspace company will deal with launching the satellite into orbit.
Azerspace's manufacturer is the Orbital Sciences Corporation and an orbital positioning of 46 degrees east longitude has been leased from Malaysian satellite operator MEASAT.
