Turkmen ministry prepares fiber-optic communication lines with Kazakhstan and Afghanistan

The Turkmen Communications Ministry is purposefully integrating its telecommunications network in the global information sphere, the Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper said today.

According to the information, fiber-optic lines have been prepared for fusion with Kazakhstan near the settlement Bekdash, as well as the lines that will connect the network directly with Afghanistan in the Serhetabat and Imamnazar settlements.

"These actions will have direct communication channels with friendly countries, bring great benefits to the Turkmen economy," the article said. "There will be no need for transit channels."

Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper reported that at present, local telephone networks widely introduce the Nokia, Siemens and Huawei digital switching system.

The country's telephone network consists of digital automatic telephone exchanges.

These stations are able to provide subscribers with high-speed channels to connect to the Internet and data transmission, as well as voice and video calls.

Altyn Asyr mobile communication network was established in 2004. It joined the World Association of GSM mobile operators. Its mobile communication network was registered under No 438 02.

TM Cell is a national mobile network in Turkmenistan. Local operator currently provides telecommunications services for more than 2.600 million subscribers.
