The Ministry of Transport and Communications of Kazakhstan and Microsoft International signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the field of information technology, the ministry stated on Thursday.
"The document provides for cooperation between the parties in the use of information technology in the public and education sectors, as well as in the fields of health and private business. For example, the parties will cooperate for the development of the concept of 'open government', the center of innovation and business incubation, and increasing security on the Internet, " the statement says.
As for the educational sector, Microsoft is going to expand cooperation in its 'Partnership for Education' programme, including the professional development of teachers, curriculum creation and promotion of programmes of innovative schools. The company also offers IT-Academy program for training students in the field of information technologies.
"On behalf of Microsoft, I am pleased to declare that the signing of the memorandum brings our partnership with the government of Kazakhstan to a new level, General Manager of the Representative Office of Microsoft Corporation in Kazakhstan Martin Quirk said during the signing. - Our company supports the ambitious plans of Kazakhstan on innovative development of the country and is ready to share best practices in the field of information technology and cloud solutions. In turn, the Minister of Transport and Communications Askar Zhumagaliev noted that the Ministry will continue to work to promote dialogue and partnerships with all major global IT companies.
