Kazakh Kcell ups net profit by 10 percent in first half-year of 2014

By Elena Kosolapova - Trend: Kcell company, a leading operator in Kazakh telecommunication market, increased net profit by 10.1 percent to 32.147 billion tenge (183.52 tenge = $1) in the first half of 2014 compared to the same period of 2014, Novosti-Kazakhstan reported with the reference to the company.

The company's revenue increased by 3.2 percent to 92.142 billion tenge in the reporting period. EBITDA increased by 8.1 percent and hit 53.208 billion tenge. EBITDA margin increased up to 57.7 percent from 55.1 percent a year ago.

Kcell increased operating income by 9 percent to 41.093 billion tenge in January-June 2014. Free cash flow of the company decreased by 9 percent and amounted to 34.201 billion tenge in this period.
Kcell is affiliated with TeliaSonera, the largest Scandinavian telecommunications holding.
The company was established in 1998 and since February 1999 began rendering services of cellular communication under the trade mark Kcell. As of Dec. 31, 2013 the company's subscriber data base was 14.3 million.
