U.S.-based company HP has been chosen as an equipment supplier for the large DATA-center in Azerbaijan, a source on the Azerbaijani telecommunications market told Trend Sept. 1.
Talks with HP's leadership on the supply of hardware solutions for the center took place at a high level in Azerbaijan, according to the source.
"The DATA-center will be built in the Shirvan region of Azerbaijan," according to the source. The construction project will be gradually implemented.
The project is designed for the future. But the short-term plans include the establishment of a data center, which will render services directly to the state agencies.
DATA-center services will be available to the regional countries in the future.
The costs for the regional DATA-center construction can vary from 30 to 120 million euros.
