The Nuclear Research Center CJSC of Azerbaijan's Ministry of Communications and High Technologies has signed a memorandum on cooperation with the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN).

The Nuclear Research Center CJSC of Azerbaijan's Ministry of Communications and High Technologies has signed a memorandum on cooperation with the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN), read a message from Azerbaijan's Permanent Mission to the UN Office in Geneva May 24.

This document will enable Azerbaijan to become a full participant of A Large Ion Collider Experiment (ALICE). It is one of the largest experiments in the world devoted to research in the physics of matter at an infinitely small scale.

Founded in 1954, the CERN laboratory sits astride the Franco-Swiss border near Geneva. It was one of Europe's first joint ventures and now has 21 member states.
