By Huseyn Veliyev – Trend:

Facebook users in Azerbaijan will be offered a new method of making e-payments, Elmir Aliyev, head of the BotBox project, told Trend Oct. 3.

He said that negotiations are underway with Azerbaijan’s processing centers regarding the launch of a new project that will rival with the country’s current payment systems and mobile applications.

“Today, many people prefer to make payments using mobile applications,” he noted. “However, the situation may drastically change in favor of a new payment tool, given that the vast majority of Internet users spend much more time in social networks. This tool will enable making payments via Facebook account. For example, users will receive notifications on their Facebook Messenger about the need to pay for electricity.”

Facebook users in Azerbaijan, after registering a bank card in their account, will be able to pay for utilities and other services, buy airline tickets, and carry out other operations, he added.

“This project is intended to become one of the options for the development of non-cash payments and e-commerce in Azerbaijan,” he said. “We plan to launch the project in the first quarter of next year. As for security aspects, all of them will meet the safety criteria of processing centers and payment systems.”
