Changes that occured in the economy and legal regulation of the country will be reflected in the new national strategy on protection of intellectual property, Deputy Chairman of the State Committee for Standardization, Metrology and Patents of Azerbaijan Niyazi Rahimov told Trend.
He said that the national strategy is not limited to the activities of the national patent structure, but covers quite a lot of areas - science, education, etc.
"The design of the strategy has already been implemented and only a small amount of work has remained, I believe that it will be adopted in the near future. The strategy is a living organism, it is changing and improving as the economy and legislation of the country changes. I hope that the new developments in the country will be reflected in it, since a lot of changes have taken place since the beginning of work on its preparation, "Rahimov said.
The national strategy is aimed at further developing the sphere of protection of intellectual property rights, its integration into the existing international system, and the provision of effective services in this field.
The strategy is being prepared jointly with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and in accordance with the agreement signed earlier with this organization.
National strategy in the field of copyright protection, including industrial property, trademarks, patents, is envisaged in the Development Concept "Azerbaijan 2020: Vision into the Future".
