Presentation of a system of integration of e-signature certificates into new IDs will be held within the framework of the 23rd Azerbaijan International Telecommunications and Information Technologies Exhibition and Conference Bakutel 2017, the country’s Deputy Minister of Transport, Communications and High Technologies Elmir Valizade said.
He made the remarks Dec. 4 in Baku at a press conference dedicated to the opening of the Bakutel 2017 Exhibition.
The Bakutel 2017 Exhibition will be held Dec.5-8.
Valizade said that the issuance of new IDs will start in 2018.
“The ID cards will have carriers, into which e-signature certificates will be integrated, thus each citizen will be able to take advantage of the e-government portal,” Valizade said.
E-signature certificates will be integrated into ID cards free of charge, he said, adding that the validity period of e-signature certificate in new ID cards will be five years.
At the end of this period, it will only be necessary to extend the certificate’s validity period, he noted.
