Azexport.az, Azerbaijan’s e-commerce portal, is launching a joint project “Fulfillment By Azexport” with Amazon, the biggest trading platform, Zaur Gardashov, head of Azexport.az portal, told Trend.
He said that the project will allow rapid delivery of ordered goods to the US and greatly reduce the cost of delivery.
“For this purpose, an entrepreneur will need to place products in warehouses in the US,” Gardashov said. “As the order is received, the delivery will be carried out not directly from Azerbaijan, but from the warehouses. Already 10 Azerbaijani entrepreneurs engaged in the manufacture of cosmetology products, beverages, honey, jam, confectionery, textile products, etc. expressed readiness to join this project.”
Presently, efforts are aimed at obtaining the appropriate permit of the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), he noted.
“The appeal for obtaining the permit has already been filed and we believe that by the middle of this year the products of Azerbaijani companies will appear both on the Amazon trading platform and in other trade networks of the US,” he said.
“Azerbaijan’s Economy Ministry will provide necessary support to local entrepreneurs in obtaining a quality certificate, which is also needed for the export of Azerbaijani products to the US market. This, in turn, will simplify exports to other countries.”
