By Huseyn Valiyev - Trend:

Azerbaijan’s Azexport e-commerce platform is in talks with Azerpoct LLC, the country’s postal operator, to reduce the time and cost of delivery of goods purchased via the platform, Zaur Gardashov, head of Azexport portal, told Trend.

The corresponding proposals have been already submitted to Azerpoct LLC, he said.

He noted that the services offered by the postal operator for the delivery of items play an important role in the portal’s activity.

“Since the beginning of our activity we have been holding regular meetings with Azerpoct LLC,” Gardashov said.

Earlier, Azexport e-commerce platform offered Azerpoct LLC to create independent distribution centers operating as warehouses. The warehouses could store smaller items that are in great demand.

Gardashov said that Azerpoct LLC has chances to become a major international carrier like FedEx, DHL, Aramex and other companies. However, it needs effective management in order to reach international level, he noted.

“For now, the postal operator only delivers items to customers in Azerbaijan,” he said. “We are interested that the delivery is carried out regardless of the direction, as well as by transit through Azerbaijan to third countries.”
