Baku, Azerbaijan, March 9

By Huseyn Valiyev – Trend:

By the middle of the year Azerbaijan’s GoldenPay payment system will start to issue its own card hesab.az, the company told Trend March 9.

The project is planned to be implemented jointly with one of the country’s big banks (its name has not been disclosed yet).

"Presently, Turkish Airlines is planned to join the project, which will allow passengers to accumulate miles for flights and receive bonuses from the airline," the company said.

Earlier, the company said that the technical and legal issues on launching the project have been fully resolved.

GoldenPay has signed a contract with Visa International company to issue hesab.az cards. Moreover, the tariffs for transactions were also worked out and the annual turnover of cards was calculated.

About 10,000 cards are initially planned to be issued. One can buy cards through the registration at www.hesab.az portal or at partner bank’s branches.

The card will have a standard set of functions of international and local cards and card holders will be able to make non-cash payments for purchases, get discounts, earn bonuses, etc.

The hesab.az card will be combined with GoldenPay "electronic purse", which is expected to be launched in parallel. Both products will be combined with the client base of the company.
