Baku, Azerbaijan, March 30

By Huseyn Valiyev – Trend:

The National Certification Center of Azerbaijan is strengthening protection of the issued electronic signatures, a source in the country's IT market told Trend.

The source said the matter rests in use of more complex hashing functions and the use of elliptical curves in cryptography.

The hash allows the e-signature user to make sure that he/she signs the necessary document. The hash is transferred to the token that forms the e-signature.

The introduction of a new encryption method will provide an even more reliable level of protection for e-signatures.

The e-signature simplifies access to the e-services of state organizations via the e-government portal at e-gov.az.

Presently, a three-year e-signature costs 18 manats for Azerbaijani citizens, while for individuals and legal entities engaged in entrepreneurial activity the cost is 36 and 72 manats, respectively. The figure is 58 manats for employees of state agencies.
