Azerbaijan’s internet provider postpones launch of Pre 5G

Azerbaijani company Sazz has postponed commercial launch of the Pre 5G fixed-line broadband TD-LTE network to early May, the company told Trend.

Reportedly, work is currently underway to optimize the network, the "soft launch" of which is expected in mid-April.

“By early May, commercial sales will begin in Baku, and further the network will gradually expand through the settlements of Ahmadli, Mashtaga, Shuvalan, Mardakan, Buzovna, Bilgah, Novkhani, Sumgayit, Khirdalan and throughout Absheron Peninsula. As for the service tariffs, we are currently considering two tariff plans. It will cost 25 manats for population and 45 manats for small and medium-sized businesses, within which additional advantages will be offered,” the company said.

Presently, the network operates in test mode. TD-LTE network covers the center of Baku. Data transfer speed in the TD-LTE network reaches 100 megabits per second.

Custom modems to join the network will be offered as soon as the commercial sales are launched.

Furthermore, by mid-2018, external modems (outdoor) and pocket devices TD-LTE MiFi will be available in the market.
