By Huseyn Veliyev - Trend:
A stereotype about importance and necessity of purchasing server platforms and building DATA-centers still prevails in Azerbaijan, Head of the Lenovo Datacenter Group Channel for Central Asia & Azerbaijan Rasim Bakhshi told Trend.
Unfortunately, he said, presently there is very strong inertia in the market.
"Today we are talking about new technologies, and market players think inertially. Many even do not understand what they want to buy," he said.
"When it comes to infrastructure, most people first of all are think about large shelves, servers, switches and tons of 'hardware', while all this has long been realized in one "box." Unfortunately, this stereotype can not be broken even by the heads of companies and integrators. They still think that there is an urgent need for building DATA-centers. We can hardly move forward with such thinking," Bakhshi said.
First of all, according to Bakhshi, it is necessary to change the thinking and realize a number of technological projects, which is what Lenovo is working on today.
Maybe, realization of technology projects can break the existing stereotype and market trends, can shift to a more relevant route, he said.
He further spoke about increasing the presence of Lenovo products in the retail market. Bakhshi said that presently, Lenovo is trying to increase its market share in the segment of mobile devices.
"On the background of global announcements we will have renovations regarding mobile devices. Today, Lenovo products are quite widely represented in the segment of tablet computers, where growth is recorded. We constantly bring new product categories to the market. If before Samsung dominated in the segment of tablet computers, now Lenovo has quite a serious market share. We can't say that today mobile device market is experiencing explosive growth, but it also has moderate rates, " Bakhshi said.
