Uzbekistan Airways to introduce connectivity services after delivery of new Boeing, Airbus planes (Exclusive)

Additional communication services and internet access will be provided to passengers of the national air carrier (NAC) Uzbekistan Airways after delivery of new Airbus A320 Neo and Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircrafts, the Uzbek NAC told Trend on July 13.

The company is currently working on this issue and preparing for provision of the connectivity services on the NAC’s airplanes, a representative of the Uzbekistan Airways said.

“In accordance with the development strategy and the program on modernization and unification of the aviation fleet, Uzbekistan Airways is continuing to purchase new modern airliners. The company is planning to receive two Airbus A320 Neo planes in December 2018. The fleet will be expanded with two new Boeing 787 Dreamliners in the 2H2019,” the NAC reminded.

The representative of the company also noted that the new aircrafts will be equipped with comfortable, wide seats with individual screens designed for entertainment and more pleasant pastime, as well as with Wi-Fi and Internet.

It was earlier reported that the Uzbekistan Airways is planning to equip all its airplanes with Wi-Fi. Retrofitting work should have been carried out at the Uzbekistan Airways Technics.

The NAC has been operating Panasonic entertainment system, which has proved to fit local conditions, in its aircrafts since 2011.
