By Huseyn Veliyev – Trend:

The Azerbaijani company Sazz is preparing for the commercial launch of the Sazz TV service by the end of the year, the company’s president Jeyhun Mollazade told Trend Oct. 11.

He said that several OTT (over-the-top content) and IPTV platforms are currently being tested.

“There is a choice between two options,” he noted. “As you know, the OTT service doesn’t require the purchase of an additional modem, and this service can be used via the Sazz modem. It is only necessary to download an additional program for OTT. This is while the IPTV service requires an additional device. Therefore, we are in talks to create partnership either with IPTV or with OTT provider.”

In parallel with this, the company continues to work on optimizing the LTE network on the Absheron Peninsula, and this work will also be completed by the end of the year, he added.

“This will make the Sazz LTE network coverage area on the Absheron Peninsula to increase by 20 percent,” he said. “We plan to present several new products this year at the Bakutel telecommunications exhibition, including Sazz LTE, Sazz TV, IP telephony and Sazz home security cameras solution, which envisages provision of a service for installing Smart home cameras for country houses and apartments. It is planned that commercial sales of new services will start in 2019.”
