Tehran, Iran, Nov.7

Trend:

The head of Passive Defense Organization of Iran has ruled out claims that it is allegedly planned to assign the country's internet management to the armed forces, calling them rumors or false judgment.

"The parliament research center has initiated the plan to organize social media and the Passive Defense Organization of Iran will be part of the administrative council for controlling the fulfillment of the plan,” ISNA reported quoting Brigadier General Gholam Reza Jalali as saying.

The plan is not about the monopoly of Passive Defense Organization over the cyber safety, Jalali told reporters.

"The government should regulate and facilitate provision of services to the people in accordance with security norms” he said. “Iran should be able to protect its assets and keep them immune."

“The process of reducing the vulnerability, reducing risks in management and interdependency should only be under the control of the Islamic republic,” he said.
