Baku, Azerbaijan, Dec. 7
By Huseyn Valiyev – Trend:
Tourists planning to visit Azerbaijan will be offered a simplified method of obtaining visas via a mobile application M-VISA, Trend reports citing a source familiar with the matter.
The application will be launched in the next two months, according to preliminary information.
“Now, for example, a tourist planning to visit Azerbaijan needs to fill out a questionnaire via a web interface,” the source said. “This method in a certain sense creates difficulties for tourists from Arab countries. By using the M-VISA application, tourists will only need to take a picture of their passports. The program will process passport data itself and send to the Asan Visa system, after which it will be possible to get a visa. Software components of this program are being developed.”
It is possible that the service will be rendered on a paid basis, and two options are being considered for the commercialization of the solution, the source noted.
“Commercialization of M-VISA will be either from the sales of the application or from the issuance of each visa,” said the source. “According to preliminary information, the service will cost $2, excluding the cost of the visa itself.”
