By Huseyn Valiyev – Trend:

A feasibility study on construction of the Trans-Eurasian Information Super Highway (TASIM) is being prepared, Trend reports referring to a source familiar with the matter.

The details of the construction project are being thoroughly worked out with the Chinese side, which is the key country in the project.

“It is important to find out how much internet traffic will be transported via this highway,” the source noted. “The project implementation may begin after the issues affecting the interests of the Caspian countries are resolved.”

The TASIM project envisages the creation of a major transit link from Frankfurt to Hong Kong. Russia (Rostelecom), Kazakhstan (KazTransCom), Turkey (TurkTelecom) and China (China Telecom) are also involved in TASIM.

Azerbaijan is represented in the project by AzInTelecom LLC.
