Azerbaijan’s Barama Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center plans to become a digital hub, Fidan Tofidi, Project Coordinator at Barama, told Trend.

According to her, an appeal will soon be sent to Azercell Telecom LLC in connection with this.

The Barama Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center was launched by Azercell Telecom LLC as the first project to enhance business innovation in Azerbaijan, to develop and preserve the digital and business ecosystem.

"We are planning to submit a proposal to Azercell so that Barama becomes a digital hub, then the Center will be able to make its investments. At the same time, it will create conditions for Barama to enter foreign markets and establish new ties," Tofidi said.

According to her, 16 startups are currently being developed at the Center.

"Twice a year, new startups are received at the Barama Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center. Mentoring sessions are held for them on various topics, and meetings between investors and startups are being organized. More than 300 events were held at the Center over the past 4 years, with the participation of more than 4,000 people. About 100 startups have completed the Barama Incubation Program, 45 of which are considered successful. These startups are already making profit, demonstrating potential for further growth," Tofidi concluded.

The Barama Incubation Program is aimed at helping young start-ups and developing their business through various supportive resources and services. Successful start-ups will be provided with free administrative support, professional consulting services, trainings and the opportunity to establish close business relations with a professional business network for a period of 6 months.
