The law on the legal regulation of the development of the internet and rendering internet services has been amended in Turkmenistan, Trend reports referring to the official document.

According to the law, the national coordinator is a legal entity, chosen by the Turkmenaragatnashyk agency (TurkmenSvyaz).

In turn, the national registrar is a legal entity chosen by the national coordinator who registers domain names in the national top-level domain (".TM"), maintains a database of registered domain names and renders internet hosting services.

The authority of the national registrar, domain names and websites in the national top-level domain (".TM") are registered by the national registrar, whose services are rendered on a paid basis.

The procedure for registering domain names and internet websites in the national top-level domain (".TM"), as well as tariffs for the services of the national registrar for domain name registration and internet hosting services are approved by the Turkmen Ministry of Industry and Communication.

According to the law, in case of revealing the cases or actions that violate the Turkmen laws and the procedure for registering domain names and websites in the national top-level domain (“.TM”), the national registrar may refuse from registering the domain name or suspend the use of the registered domain name.
