Malaysian company to create high-speed Wi-Fi network in Uzbek city

Malaysian company Hadid Engineering plans to create a high-speed wireless Wi-Fi network in Khiva city, Uzbekistan, Trend reports with reference to the press service of Foreign Ministry of Uzbekistan.

Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Malaysia Ravshan Usmanov and the Chairman of the Board of Hadid Engineering Anuar Ismail discussed this topic during the meeting at the Embassy.

"[The parties] discussed further steps to implement a pilot investment project for the introduction of high-speed wireless Internet in Khiva," the press service of Foreign Ministry said.

Following the negotiations, an agreement was reached to hold the official opening ceremony of the representative office of Hadid Engineering in the Khorezm region in September, 2019. The office will participate in the implementation of the investment project on the introduction of high-speed Internet in Khiva, as well as similar projects in other areas of Uzbekistan by attracting direct investments from Hadid Engineering.

Hadid Engineering provides engineering and telecommunications services and it is involved in the construction of large residential, commercial and industrial facilities for oil and gas, petrochemical and energy industries.

In January 2019, a joint venture Hadid Kazanakh LLC was established in Tashkent to implement investment projects in Uzbekistan. The projects related to the provision of telecommunications services are to be realized in cooperation with Malaysia’s largest Internet provider, TM Global company.
