Azerbaijani engineers develop environmentally friendly nano-additive

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Nov. 16

By Nargiz Ismayilova – Trend:

An environmentally friendly nano-additive for motor oils has been developed in Azerbaijan thanks to ThermoNorth startup, IT expert, Executive Director of the Azerbaijan Innovations Export Consortium Farid Kazimov told Trend.

“Nano-additives will be used in the countries with cold climate,” the expert added. “The nanoparticles in the additive accumulate heat. Nano-additive increases the durability of the lubricant by absorbing heat from the engine. In cold weather, the nanoparticles transfer the absorbed heat back and the temperature drops in the engine gradually.”

“The product has passed the final laboratory testing,” Kazimov added. “Off-side tests üill be conducted too. Production and sales are planned to be launched until July 20, 2020.”

ThermoNorth startup, created by an assistant professor and students of the Baku Higher Oil School, was accepted into the US Global Innovation through Science and Technology.
