BAKU, Azerbaijan, Dec. 28
By Fakhri Vakilov - Trend:
In 2020, parks on information technologies and software products will be built in the Autonomous Republic of Karakalpakstan and in all regions of Uzbekistan, as was announced by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev at a meeting with youth at the school named after Muhammad al-Khwarizmi, Trend reports citing the press service of Uzbekistan’s Ministry for the Development of Information Technologies and Communications.
According to the press service, IT-parks will be aimed at the development of youth startup projects.
“These parks should consist of buildings with a height of at least 20 floors. The days when we built 2–3-story buildings on 20 hectares are gone,” the president said.
The president noted that the governor of each region will be responsible for the construction of IT parks.
Construction will primarily begin in Bukhara, Samarkand and Khorezm regions. The governor of the Namangan region Khayrullo Bozorov also asked to include the region in the list, for which the president instructed the Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov to consider this possibility.
“There will be a development in that direction if we can introduce new youth startup projects into society. There will be fewer errors if we implement these programs,” said Mirziyoyev.
The head of state also instructed the Minister for the Development of Information Technologies and Communications Shukhrat Sadikov and the Minister of Education Sherzod Shermatov to create in each region one training center on digital technologies.
In July, the first Technological Park of software products and information technologies was opened in Tashkent; 15 startup teams became its residents.
