The main goal of the SUP VC center is to integrate Azerbaijan’s online technologies on the world market to support the companies based on them, and its activity in this sphere is underway, Tariyel Agazade, program manager of the center, told Trend.
“In Azerbaijan, as well as worldwide, the center decided to continue the entire activity online due to coronavirus to protect the health of employees,” Agazade added.
“From February through March, incubation and acceleration services, as well as all events are held online,” the manager said. “Mentoring and One-on-one, ZOOM video conferencing, as well as live broadcasts on Facebook Live may be referred to as the online resources which are used.”
"One of our events, which occurred during the period of Novruz holiday, covered a big number of interested people, their number amounted to 3,000 participants,” Agazade said.
“We are currently exploring and preparing for the implementation of such platforms as GUST (Japanese Acceleration Center) to make acceleration and incubation programs better and faster,” the manager said. “I would like to stress that as most of our services are digital, there were no problems in the activity of our startups."
The center’s activity will continue in the same regime in April. Moreover, given the fact that citizens spend most of their free time on the internet, the center again launched his blog on the Medium platform on startups and innovations, preparing video instructions on the same topic, translating the resources of YCombinator'un Startup School into the Azerbaijani language.
“These resources will be presented to citizens of the country in the national language soon,” Agazade said.
“Presently, we are able to implement various online resources in startups,” the manager said. “The services cost from $10,000 to $50,000 and are part of the Segment platform.”
“However, these resources may be presented to Azerbaijani startups by our center as part of exclusive cooperation with such companies as Amazon and Segment, " the manager said.
