Azerbaijani IT company talks production of medical ventilators during COVID-19

BAKU, Azerbaijani, May 23

By Nargiz Ismayilova – Trend:

During the COVID-19 pandemic, even before the quarantine was announced, the Azerbaijani IT company Sumaks Technologies, due to the situation that had arisen, first of all developed a medical ventilator, the company’s Executive Director Javid Mammadov told Trend.

According to him, at the initial stage the company tried to develop a device that would meet the minimum requirements.

“The need for such devices would have arisen in a critical situation. Two examples were prepared to be presented to the Ministry of Health if necessary,” he said. “These devices were created with the support of our doctors. This is not a professional device, because it was prepared within a month, urgently.”

“In mid-April, we wrapped it up. Then, the Association for Management Union of Medical Territorial Units (TABIB) sent us a guideline for improving functionality of the device," Mammadov said.

Mammadov said that improving the device’s functionality, more time and serious resources are required.

“To this end, we also put forward our proposals and will be working over it,” he said.

In 2020, the company will continue to work on the following projects: Avtomaks GPS tracking system, ERP (enterprise resource planning), and Scroller Management.

The implementation of the largest project took nine months last year.

The devices manufactured by the company were used in various fields such as advertising, transport and the ERP (enterprise resource planning).
