Azerbaijan's Azercosmos expands satellite services export

BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 1

Revenues of Azerbaijani Azercosmos OJSC satellite operator from the export of satellite and telecommunication services amounted to $16.6 million from January through April 2020, which is 21.1 percent more compared to the same period of 2019, Trend reports on June 1 referring to the Export Review of the country’s Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication.

Azercosmos’ revenues from the export of services amounted to 90 percent of company’s total revenues.

From January through April 2020, these services were rendered to 26 countries, including, among others, the US, Malaysia, the UK, France and the UAE.

Azercosmos exported the services worth $6.2 million to 19 countries in April 2020.

The company operates two communications satellites - Azerspace-1, Azerspace-2, and the low-orbit satellite Azersky.

The revenues of Azercosmos from the export of satellite and telecommunication services amounted to $43.4 million in 2019, which is 70 percent more compared to the same period of 2018.
